I help authors tell their stories as effectively, compellingly, and truthfully as possible. My philosophy as an editor is as a midwife, helping you deliver your story–to get the best version of your vision onto the page. (All work done by human brain; I don’t use AI for any editing and will never feed an author’s work into any LLM engine. And if you contract with me, you work with me–I don’t subcontract.)

Please note: I specialize in commercial and upmarket fiction. I’m not the right fit for memoir and other nonfiction, poetry, high fantasy/sci-fi, MG/YA, short stories, personal essays, or graphic novels.

Edits

Full developmental edit

A comprehensive, wide-ranging, deep-dive edit that considers and evaluates all aspects of the story and encompasses both a detailed editorial letter as well as embedded in-line comments.

Multiple-pass full developmental edit

A full developmental edit as above, and subsequent editorial passes (1 to 2) of your revised manuscript that encompasses detailed embedded in-line comments, and additional editorial letters only if needed.

Overview edit

A thorough evaluation of a manuscript’s overall strengths and possible weaknesses, with clear, actionable suggestions for addressing the latter in a comprehensive, detailed editorial letter. Does not include embedded in-line notes.

Consultations

First-chapters critique

A comprehensive editorial read of your first three chapters (including prologue), or up to 50 pages, with thorough editorial analysis and feedback offered during a recorded one-hour consultation, along with a written actionable list to help you with revisions.

Story consultation

A 60-minute recorded Zoom consultation providing an in-depth analysis and discussion of your story that will help you clarify your vision and get it on the page effectively at any stage of writing.

Consultations for editors and coaches

A personalized recorded 60-minute Zoom consultation and discussion about any aspect of creating, building, or navigating your editing/coaching craft and/or business (within my expertise).

Custom consultation

A customized hour of recorded Zoom consultation time with me for any concern, questions, or area of struggle you’d like to explore and discuss (within my fields of expertise).
