A detailed, personalized critique of your presentation substance and style to help prepare you for pitching yourself and your work directly to agents and editors.

Live-pitching your manuscript to industry pros can be nerve-racking, stressful, and intimidating. It’s challenging to boil down your entire story to a succinct logline and description that will hit the right notes to capture an agent’s or editor’s interest inside of ten or fifteen minutes; and many authors aren’t experienced with public speaking or persuasive oration. Often you’re one of a long line of authors these pros will speak to during their pitch sessions, and making yourself and your work stand out—in a good way—is paramount.

In addition to decades of insight in the industry from working with agents and editors, I have experience and training in public speaking, performance, and interviewing and can help you effectively and impactfully present your story—and yourself—to generate an agent or editor’s enthusiasm; give the agent or editor the information they need to know how they could sell your manuscript; and bring a confident, engaging demeanor into the room to make them want to work with you.

In the beginning of our consultation, you’ll “introduce” and pitch yourself and your work to me, potentially including fielding some questions. Then we’ll discuss how to strengthen any potential areas of weaknesses in your content or delivery, and you can ask specific questions. Time allowing (and if you desire), you can try your pitch again.

• Tip sheet/checklist for pitching effectively
• Supplemental resources as appropriate
• Unlimited email follow-up for clarification and questions (does not include looking over or offering feedback on revisions; additional consulting fees will apply for this service)
