I have worked in the publishing industry for more than twenty-five years, helping authors hone their work to a tight polished draft. As a developmental editor I work directly with authors as well as through major publishing houses.
As a freelance copyeditor and proofreader, I’ve worked with “Big Six” (or Five, now…) New York publishers, among them Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, and Hachette. I hold a BA in English literature from Georgia State University and am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
I’ve worked on titles by New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal best-selling authors as well as manuscripts for unpublished writers, single titles as well as entire series. I also present editing and writing workshops for many writers’ groups, organizations, and conferences, including RWA National, Pikes Peak Writers, Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, and the Santa Barbara Writers Conference, and have written articles for numerous writers’ sites and publications.
My philosophy as an editor is as a midwife, helping you deliver your story, your vision. My job is to help you get it onto the page as effectively, compellingly, and truthfully as possible.
